AISI 1010 Carbon Steel is a low-carbon, general-purpose steel known for excellent formability, ductility, and weldability. It can be forged between 1260–982°C (2300–1800°F) and hot-worked between 482–93°C (900–200°F). With 0.08–0.13% carbon, 0.30–0.60% manganese, and small amounts of silicon, phosphorus, and sulfur, AISI 1010 (UNS G10100) offers low strength but can be quenched and tempered for improved performance. This grade is commonly used for ERW tubes, automotive parts, fenders, body panels, washers, bushings, and general structural applications.
